Iām a huge fan of facials, massages and all things spa. What I never tried was a Thai Massage until I went to Therapeutic Thai Massage in Katy, Texas. I didn’t know what to expect. When I arrived I smelled the fresh smell of lemon grass, was greeted by a lovely receptionist, then my masseuse.
To start, lying facing down, the masseuse stretched my limbs and cracked my back… I knew I was in for a great time. I literally released at least 2 weeks worth of stress from that small alignment alone. After I was loose, she began the massage using a massage balm and medium pressure. As someone whose profession is excel and writing emails, my shoulders and lower back was full of tension.
To relieve some of that tension she focused on adjusting my hips and removing the knots I carried with a combination of pulling, stretching and massage techniques. As she was pulling at my overworked limbs, deep breaths allowed me to release tension I stored through my body and mind.
I thought of all the things that were troubling me and decided to release them on the table. When I thought of things that were out of my control, I took every deep breath and stretch to let go. What I love about the Thai Massage is that it helps you release trauma restored in the body. Some hip stretches make people cry because that is where emotional trauma is stored. Shoulder tension is associated with burdens and responsibilities.
After I released all the things that burdened me, I finally allowed myself to rest. After 90 minutes, I felt like a brand new person and was greeted with hot tea. I can honestly say, that was the best massage I ever had and I donāt go a month without one. BIG FAN.
And yes, I requested to not be stepped on for this massage lol.
Let me know in the comments below where you find the most tension and whatās been helping you elevate it?
