Soho Welcomes New Luxe Concept Resident, Lanvin

On October 10th, 150 Mercer officially opened its doors as Lanvin’s new luxury concept store. Founded in 1889 by Jeanne Lanvin, this historic brand is the third oldest French house still in operation. This is the house’s first new store to open in Manhattan in eight years — under new creative director, Bruno Sialelli.  Luckily for you, I was invited to the grand opening and have the inside scoop as to how the event went and special interview with former Lanvin runway model, Pat Tracey.

The store invites you in with a ramp entrance leading to open space to roam and browse through the Fall/Winter ’19 “Mystic Pilgrims” collection directed by Sialelli. With an exposed brick wall, Luke Edward Hall’s Greek inspired mural, and mirror reflecting wall and partial ceiling, it’s hard not to be enchanted by the Mystic Pilgrim fairytale.

The featured ready-to-wear f/w’19 collection premiered earlier this year in February in a 14th-century Gothic townhouse previously inhabiting the abbots of Cluny. The current landlords of the home are France’s National Museum of the Middle Ages.

The collection featured printed silk blouses; woolen coats and jackets with sailor collars; wool pea coats with heart-shaped lapel; wool capes with leather ties; oversized parkas; cropped and long flowing pants.

Here are some of my personal favorite looks and pieces from the collection available now:

I am absolutely obsessed with the pear-shaped minaudiere bag with brass leaves and leather wrist strap!

How cute are these? I mean honestly!

The night was full of laughter, conversation and champagne. I am excited to see what’s next for Lanvin with Bruno Sialelli in comand, he’s already presented bountiful ideas with this Fall/Winter collection. I hope for more hard-shelled bags and dual- material leather and suede thigh high boots like the pair below!

Let me know about what you think about the collection in the comment section below and click here for the exclusive interview with model Pat Tracey!

Until next time, byeeee!
