My Favorite Gym Aftercare

We have about 82 days until summer and we’ve been eating all winter! Now that I have the time, space and freedom to workout I’ve been taking full advantage of the opportunity to get back in shape. NGL, the gains HURT but they’re sooo worth it. Here’s how I recover quickly.

Stretch for 10 minutes

I literally don’t care what anyone says you have to stretch before and after your workout. Your muscles need to be stretched after working on them so you don’t get dense up, have back pain, feel the gains in the wrong places and they prepare you for the next day.

Hot Shower & Lavender Oil

I know some people like the cold showers but something about a steamy shower after sweating and being salty just makes going to bed that much better. It’s also a fabulous way to release tension in the body.  I use this Dr. Teal’s Soothing Lavender Oil.

Body Scrub

Not every night but most nights after the gym I use these scrubbing gloves to make sure my body remains soft as I tone. I literally love these. I have sensitive skin and sometimes fragranced scrubs irritate my skin

Sports Massage

I have gotten to the point where my body needs Sports Massages more often than Swedish Massages. Sports Massages are almost the knock off version of Thai Massages and I love them. At least once a month get a massage, please. Honestly, invest in the membership and make it part of your self-care.

Good Fuel!

I load up on greens, fish, chicken and carbs to keep my weight but also shred fat. I miss no meals unless I’m intentionally fasting and I only eat when I’m hungry. The pressure to eat all the time has completely left my mind and just being intentional about what i’m eating made all the difference.

Working out isn’t always about keeping it hot. It’s so good for your self-esteem, mental awareness, clarity and hormones. Always make it a priority and always take care of yourself!
