Great Places To Be This Spring

We can’t complain about this winter. No bad snow storms, no below zero temperatures and no mass covid outbreak; we did good. It is now Spring and the sun is out longer, the weather is warmer and we have places to be! 

Cathedrale – East Village

This is such a tastefully sexy date spot. The inside is huge with romantic dim lighting and quilted leather chairs great for intimate dinners. The outside patio is phenomenal for a brunch date with excellent lighting and non-stop sunshine. When I went, the weather was perfect. The patio is enclosed with a sunroof and beautiful greenery to add to the outdoor feel. My date and I sat in the booth of course, super cozy, and ordered a bunch of yummy things. All super light and delicious.

Cove Restaurant – Queens 

Formally known as Island Taste, IYKYK. Cove is a beautifully decorated Black-owned restaurant in Queens that specializes in Jamaican cuisine and Caribbean music. I took my girls here for our first time and we absolutely loved it. The mimosa’s come in a small pitcher and the food is served HOT. The porridge is amazing, the saltfish is amazing, the stew chicken, rice, oxtail, grits, all phenomenal. I love what they’ve done with the place and so look forward to going back.

Loreto – Brooklyn

I’ve mentioned Loreto before but I will always recommend this spot for the warmer weather. The decor creates a light but inviting and cozy environment. The food and service was absolutely amazing and the location is close to the action so, you can eat here and wine and kotch elsewhere. Read more here.

Gurney’s – Montauk 

Gurney’s is a classic Long Island getaway in the summer but a quiet locals only vibe in the spring and winter. This is the perfect time to go and book a little staycation right before it gets busy. Read more here.
