Corporate Girl Summer Wardrobe Basics

I know I know, having to schlep to the office feels like punishment. But going to the office looking like a burlap sack isn’t going to make life any sweeter while working for the man. Sure, it’s not fun commuting but, being the heart stopper at Starbucks or the talk of the office, does add a little spice to the day. Here’s what I recommend you do:

Throw out any and every old, dingy basic light colored shirt or blouse you own or move it to “house clothes”. Pastels and whites are meant to be bright, not faded by multiple washes and sweat. Target has some of the best basic t-shirts for $8 you can absolutely dress up with a blazer and pair of pants.

Pants:

  1. Mid-Rise Everyday Soft Denim™ Bootcut Jeans – White House Black Market
  2. Kate Straight-Leg Pant – J.Crew
  3. High Rise 90s Relaxed Jean – Abercrombie
  4. Contrats Waist Pants – Zara

Blouses:

You can get fiscally creative here but be appropriate to the office and body type.

  1. Floerns Women’s Striped Notched V Neck Ruffle Cap Sleeve Blouse Tops – Amazon
    1. Great for lunch with co-workers and in-office meetings.
  2. Angashion Womens Tops – Amazon
    1. Great for Thursday – Friday after work date / happy hour and bustier body types.
  3. Riley Tailored Sleeveless Polo – Banana Republic
    1. Great for small chested women
  4. Smocked Bodice T Shirt – Cos

Dresses:

Dresses are my favorite lazy cheat code for dressing up without putting any effort. Here are my easy recommendations:

  1. V-neck Shirtdress In Soft Gauze – J.Crew
    1. All you have to do is put on some accessories, a sandal and don’t forget your employee badge.
  2. Astra Dress by Heartloom – Revolve
    1. Great for all body types, just bring a small cardigan.
  3. V-Neck Faux Wrap Pleated Mini Sheath Dress – Express
    1. Great for an after work date, bring a blazer.
  4. Shimmer Belted V-Neck Sweater Dress – Aritzia

What’s on your office hottie list of basics? What’re your favorite brands right now? I used to love Zara’s blazers until the quality went down. Let me know in the comments!
