For some, having a closet full of high ticket items and passports stamped from exotic places seems a bit out of reach. That doesn’t mean you aren’t worthy of it. If you’d like to introduce luxury into your life without breaking the bank, I’ve got you covered. The first step to realizing you want luxury in your life is shifting your mindset.
Your happiness and overall wellness is an investment.
How you view the items or experiences you want can help you increase or decrease your happiness. It’s all about perspective.
Luxury is about great comfort and extravagance. What brings you great comfort and extravagance in your life? My idea of luxury and someone else’s can be completely different for different reasons so it’s important for you to define what luxury looks like to you.
When I think of luxury, I think of convenience and ease. If you want an easy start to your designer collection I highly suggest you start with makeup. You can get Chanel, Gucci, Tom Ford, YSL etc for less at Sephora. Nothing says classic, luxurious convenience than this portable compact Chanel mirror.
Before I was gifted my lovely Dior Saddle bag, I was a Dior Lip Addict.
The more I went out alone the better my fine dining experiences became so much so, for a while I didn’t pay for my own meals. Being able to eat in the peace and quiet of your own company increases your comfortability in more luxurious environments. I will always recommend Philippe Chow Uptown for lunch, you’ll get a great meal for less than you would at dinner and there will be less pressure if you’re not comfortable eating alone.
Speaking of places to dine, introduce yourself and some friends to high tea. If you’re not ready for the ambiance of Afternoon Tea at The Plaza, go more relaxed at Alice’s Tea Cup for less.
Nothing screams luxury than experience and education. As you discover new places to dine, discover new menu items to try like mussels if you’ve never had it or oysters. If oysters make you squeamish, try them grilled, they’re delicious at Voodoo Crab in RVC. And if you’re ready to make the $85 investment give Beluga caviar a try. I highly recommend you try it with a vodka martini to cut the salt.
So, you don’t want to leave your house to luxuriate, fine. But definitely get yourself a facial steamer to unwind after a long week of being a human. I give myself facials after a long week of adulting, plus it makes my skin glow.
Whoever said buying yourself 2 dozen roses was lame never received them. You have three options here, 1 you can buy flowers from your local grocer and have them wrapped for cheap, 2 you can order them online and attach a cute note or 3 you can invest in a subscription service. Either way it’s a win, you have one more beautiful thing to look at other than yourself.
How have you introduced luxury into your life? How do you perceive it? I’d love to read more!

My favorite part about this is the emphasis on mindset shift and finding luxury where you are in life! Daily luxury for me right now looks like setting time aside for pampering, and solo dates to all the restaurants on my yelp list. Love this post so so much!
Thank you!
You’re always on point and I appreciate it so much! Thank you.
The reminder all of us women need! Thank you. 🫶🏾
Of course! Thanks Tee!
Love that this post goes beyond romanticizing average things like your commute to work or your morning cup of coffee!
I am so glad you get it! There’s but so much romanticizing a girl can do over Folgers. Thanks Ashlee!
